I've written this entry as good source material for those who are new to the systems. It's a fun little exercise. I always wanted to memorize brainwaves ever since I heard about them when I was 16 years old. This article may not have the best structure, but I hope I can get the point across well.

1. Delta waves — 4 Hz

The Greek letter delta looks like a pyramid. Imagine a Delta pyramid on 4 wheels (4 wheels = 4 hertz).

Delta pyramid on 4 wheels representing 4 Hz
Delta pyramid + 4 wheels = Delta waves (4 Hz).

2. Theta Waves — 8 Hz

Theta sounds like theatre (magician's hat). An hourglass looks like an 8. Imagine an hourglass (8 Hz) being pulled out of a magician's hat (theatre).

Hourglass pulled from magician's hat – theta 8 Hz
Theatre (theta) + hourglass (8) = Theta waves (8 Hz).

3. Alpha Brain Waves — 8 – 13 Hz

Gorilla = Alpha, sunglasses look like an 8 (8 Hz), black cat = bad luck = 13 Hz. Imagine a gorilla (Alpha) wearing sunglasses (8 Hz) riding a black cat (13 Hz).

Gorilla wearing sunglasses riding a black cat – alpha 8-13 Hz
Gorilla (alpha) + sunglasses (8) + black cat (13) = Alpha waves (8–13 Hz).

4. Beta waves — 30 Hz

Beta sounds like butter. 30 Hz — there are about 30 days in a month. When I think month, the image of a moon comes to mind. So imagine a buttered-up moon.

Buttered moon representing beta 30 Hz
Butter (beta) + moon (30 days) = Beta waves (30 Hz).

5. Gamma waves — 100 Hz

Gamma sounds like gamer. 100 reminds me of 100 dollars. Imagine a PlayStation suddenly exploding releasing 100 dollar notes.

PlayStation exploding with 100 dollar bills – gamma 100 Hz
Gamer (gamma) + $100 bills = Gamma waves (100 Hz).

Now take out a piece of paper and test yourself!
