Memory Peg Systems — FAQ

What is a memory peg system?

A memory peg system is a fixed list of images you memorise once and then reuse forever. Each peg is tied to a number or a letter, so when you need to remember a list you simply hang the new information onto pegs you already know. The Major System, the Dominic System and the Number-Rhyme system are all classic peg systems.

What is the difference between the Major System and the Dominic System?

The Major System converts digits into consonant sounds and then into words — 32 becomes “moon”. The Dominic System converts each two-digit pair into a Person and an Action, making it a PAO (Person-Action-Object) system. The Major System is easier to build from scratch; the Dominic System is usually faster for memorising long numbers.

Do I need an account to save my peg list?

No. Every builder saves your progress directly in your browser's local storage, so your peg lists stay on your device. No sign-up, no email and no cost.

Can I download my peg list as a PDF?

Yes. Once you have filled in your pegs you can export the finished list as a PDF and print it or keep it on your phone for revision.
